Digital technologies are having a deep impact in our everyday teaching and learning practices in all learning situations: schools, universities, companies, non profit organizations, government, military, etc.

RED-INK - Rethinking EDucation IN the Knowledge society - is a joint project of three leading Swiss universities in this field: the University of Lugano, the University of St. Gallen and the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.

It is a doctoral school, that is primarily a dynamic and engaging community of academic researchers, practitioners and doctoral students. This means an outstanding multidisciplinary research team at National level, working on interrelated research projects blending multiple perspectives: educational, social, technological, and communicational.

The goal of RED-INK is a better understanding of the complex issues related to the introduction, management and impact of educational technologies and eLearning in the perspective of the new context of the knowledge society.

The expected results are high-quality and high-impact research studies at an international level.

RED-INK is funded by the pro*doc program of the Swiss National Science Foundation. This funding is available for training programmes of doctoral-candidates and for research needed to complete a doctorate, primarily for humanities and social sciences.
